So you finally decided to start your blog huh?
I’m really happy for you, believe me. I know the amount of courage it takes to actually make moves to start your very own business. I say business, because I’m assuming you also want to make money from your blog.
It is a well-known fact that to create a profitable blog, you have to first determine your niche. Your niche is basically the central subject of your blog.
The amount of money you are able to make from your blog depends greatly on your niche. Some people are very passionate about building fireplaces (yeah, that’s a thing), but they’ll never make money blogging about that.
To make money blogging, you have to choose a niche that is in demand. The niche should be one people are searching for and are willing to spend money on.
There are millions of blogs on the internet right now and it is very easy to think that all niches are saturated and that it is difficult to make any money from your blog.
If you think that, you’d both be right and wrong. You’d be right because most markets are saturated and it is very hard to think of an idea or niche that a million other people haven’t covered before. You’d be wrong because, no matter how saturated some markets are, they will forever be profitable.
Are you still wondering what your blog niche should be?
I feel you.
But don’t worry because, in this blog post, I’ll share with you a very huge list of over 100 of the most profitable blog niches in 2021. These niches have helped create six and seven-figure bloggers. At the very least, they helped people quit their jobs.
That’s something, ain’t it?
In a rush? Why don’t you pin for later? Thank you!
What is a blog niche?
I’m sure you have heard the word, ‘niche’ before. It gets thrown around a lot. Let me help you break down what it actually means.
A blog niche, specifically, simply refers to the main subject your blog focuses on. All the blog posts you write will be related to that topic in some way.
For example, my blog is a beauty blog (yes, I write about blogging too. more on that later). Apart from the blogging category of my blog, every other post here ties back to beauty. I do not write about any other topic. You will not find posts about weight loss, travel or cooking here.
There are other blogs called lifestyle blogs. These blogs have multiple niches. They might cover beauty, travel, fashion, fitness, home, décor, and even dating. These blogs can work—there are many successful lifestyle blogs on the internet.
However, I will not advice that an individual start a lifestyle blog. As the blogosphere gets more competitive, it’s getting increasingly more difficult to stand out blogging about different topics.
When you choose a single niche, your chances to rank of Google, establish expertise and plan your content get higher.
How narrow or broad should my niche be?
Rule of thumb: Start with a narrow niche and expand your topics over time.
For example, you can start a blog about bags, and become recognized as a bag expert. It’s easier to stand out as a bag blogger than as a general fashion blogger. Once you have cemented your expertise and gotten the trust of your readers, you can branch out to other areas of fashion, provided your audience is interested in them.
Choosing a narrow niche also makes it easier for your blog to rank on Google. The technique used to achieve this is known as search engine optimization (SEO).
Have you ever noticed that when you search for online business ideas, all the websites on page one are either business or personal finance blogs. There’s a reason that is so.
Google’s algorithms filters through trillions of webpages to find the ones that fit best with user intent. Google’s main priority is to give users exactly what they are searching for, keep them on the engine and make them come back. If the content of your site is related to the search query, Google will have more faith that your post will answer the users’ question.
With each blog post you write around a specific niche, you build relevance around that niche. It is also much easier for your blog content to rank for niche-specific long tail keywords. If you write around several different niches, it becomes much harder to establish relevance. This makes it more difficult for your blog to rank.
Now, you might be wondering what blog niche you should write in.
Well, you’re in a hugeeee treat because I’ve compiled a list of over 100+ of the most profitable blog niches in 2021.
Let’s get into it, shall we?
- Personal finance
I’m starting off this list with the most obvious one. I don’t think there is any search engine user that has never come across a personal finance blog/website.
Personal finance is one of the most profitable blog niches because it keys in with the natural human desire for wealth. With things like budgeting and getting good credit, people are always in search for guidance to earn, grow, and manage their money/income.
Personal finance has high traffic potential because it is a subject that can never go out of style. The art of making money is a necessity and is evergreen. One cannot survive without money. It does not matter what is going on in the world or what time of year it is, people still care about the sums in their bank accounts.
This is why the traffic to personal finance blogs tends to be stable throughout the year.

- Health & wellness
Health is one of the core needs of human beings. Therefore, it is not surprising that the health and wellness niche is one of the most profitable blog niches.
This niche, however, is a very broad one, and there are lots of topics that fall under this niche. They include nutrition, meditation, self-care, personal development, sleep, and so on.
You don’t necessarily need to be a doctor or medical personnel to start a blog in this niche. But if you are, your credibility will go a long way because you would stand out from so many people who dish out health advice online.
If you are not medically-inclined, you can still develop an in-depth understanding of health topics without going to med school. Just make sure that you are transparent and honest about your background and experience in the topics you cover.
When it comes to specific health topics like diseases or medications, Google ranks medically-backed websites over a regular health blog. This means that websites like WebMD and Mayo Clinic would be prioritized over ordinary health blogs. Just keep this in mind.
The typical health and fitness blog would not cover topics like diseases and medications. Rather, they will address everyday health concerns like self-care and self-confidence.
Health and wellness blogs that make money
This niche is closely related to the health and wellness niche. Some people like to merge both into the health and fitness niche. I like to distinguish them from each other.
The fitness niche is very popular because it focuses on the general desire of people to look and feel good. This niche is also very competitive and includes subtopics such as exercise, weight loss, yoga, diet and so on.
In the fitness niche, it is very important to niche down to one or two topics. Starting a general fitness blog will not work as well as niching down.
There are hundreds of well-established, general fitness blogs. To stand out, focus on one particular area of fitness. For example, you could write content about fitness tips for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Who doesn’t love eating? I know I do!
Everyone has to eat to survive, whether they like eating or not. And that’s why the food niche is always going to be popular—and profitable.
This niche covers everything from vegan recipes to ketogenic food ideas to baking. Success in this niche does not depend on you being a professional chef. Whether you are a professional chef or just someone who loves cooking, you can start a food blog.
Food blogs, however, are a bit difficult to monetize than blogs in other niches. It all depends on the behavior of your consumers/viewers.
Many people generally don’t buy food ingredients or utensils from blogs. Groceries and cooking utensils are not generally a part of affiliate programs either. A food blogger may post a recipe for a grilled mozzarella sandwich and list the ingredients and utensils used to prepare the dish. Usually, the readers would write down those items and buy them at the grocery store.
Most food blogs make money through display advertising. This works because great food blogs tend to get huge traffic. As a food blogger, you can promote your posts on Pinterest. Food bloggers can also sell cookbooks to their audience.

- Online business
Fun fact: The easiest way to make money online is to teach people how to make money online.
People are willing to pay big bucks to learn how to make more money. These days, the best way to make passive income is through the internet. That’s why many bloggers in other niches have a ‘Blogging’ or ‘Start a blog’ category. Example, me.
These bloggers earn money from marketing the affiliate links to web hosting services, email service providers and online courses.
The catch is that you can’t just wake up one morning and decided to start an online business blog. You actually need to have experience building an online business. People prefer to learn from those who’ve done what they teach.
It’s also important to be upfront about your background. Don’t claim to be something you’re not. I write about skincare, hair care, and makeup. I know a lot about this stuff, yet I’m not a dermatologist. And I don’t claim to be one.

Tech is a topic that is developing every day. People like getting the latest updates and changes in technology. Tech is a vast field and, every week, hundreds of tech companies develop and release products. This has made technology become one of the most profitable blog niches.
If you are someone who loves the latest gadgets and exploring latest tech, you might want to start a tech blog.
With a tech blog, your main aim should be to attract traffic by providing them with your knowledge of the world of technology. Your target audience will be on the lookout for the latest tech news and will want your blog to be the place where they can find everything tech-related.
Your blog will be this space if you can educate your viewers on the specifications and budget of the latest tech available on the market.
The sub-niches of the technology niche include:
- Mobile devices
- Android and iOS applications
- Operating systems
- Mobile games
- Windows and Mac devices
- PC gaming
- Product reviews
Tech blogs that make money
- Engadget – $50 million per year
- TechCrunch – $22.5 million per year
- Envato Tuts+ – $10 million per year
Yeah, this one is also on the list.
As I mentioned earlier, a lifestyle blog doesn’t fit neatly into any particular niche. It’s the type of blog you start when you want to write content around all your interests, whether they are travel, beauty, style, or even martial arts.
With a lifestyle blog, the main attraction is YOU. Readers go on your blog to see your daily life, your adventures, your relationships and every aspect of your life you decide to share with them.
Many lifestyle bloggers have Instagram accounts to accompany their blogs. They usually look their IG accounts to land lucrative brand sponsorships and partnerships.
If you want to run a lifestyle blog, you have to be comfortable sharing your life on the internet. No, you don’t have to share everything, but the more personal you get, the more people connect with you.
The downside of a lifestyle blog is that it’s harder to rank on Google. When you write about a lot of topics, you don’t establish yourself as an expert in any. Your blog might not be relevant for any particular keywords someone might search on Google.
However, you can improve your ranking by making silos or unique pages that link related content.

Style never goes out of style. (See what I did there?)
Everyone wants to wear nice clothes that help them express themselves the way they want to. This niche is one of the most profitable blog niches because it’s at the very center of the human penchant for creativity and self-expression.
Fashion blogs are easy to monetize too. Affiliate marketing networks like Shopstyle Collective, ShareASale and Amazon Associates offer links to clothes and accessories. That’s why the fashion niche earns really big. It is also highly competitive and requires vision on the part of the blogger.
If you have great style (one that’s recognized by other people), then you might be able to run a fashion blog. But getting one started is just the beginning. You have to think about branding, marketing and monetizing the blog.
You also need to niche down as a fashion blogger. Like I said earlier, it’s easier to stand out as a bag blogger than a general fashion blogger. As your blog grows, you can expand the topics you cover.
As a fashion blogger, you can work closely with luxury brands and even launch your own fashion line.

This niche is one of the most exciting and the most profitable blog niches. Traveling is a fantasy for most people these days. It provides relaxation for many people. You can capitalize on that and be your viewers’ go-to person for travel destinations and tips.
The travel niche is a good fit for you if you love traveling and if you are curious about going on adventures and having new experiences.
To run a travel blog, you need to have great analysis and storytelling skills. You have to be able to show the beauty of the finest locations in the world. You can also invite guest writers to share their travel experiences.
On a travel blog, you can teach people how to travel on a budget, save money while traveling, prevent scams from travel agents, take advantage of discount deals and cash rewards, write reviews of airlines and travel companies, and so much more.
