Hello, hello, friends! Welcome to Althea’s Alcove. That’s a photo of me above… when I tried to model. I love that photo way too much.
Anyway, my name is Althea Storm (this is a pen name. My actual name is Priscillia Egbo), creator of this here blog. I was born and raised in the heart of Lagos City, Nigeria.
I promise you, I am NOT a scammer. Haha!
I created this blog/brand in early 2021–February, to be exact, and I have been blogging here ever since. My main goal with Althea’s Alcove is to create a safe space for women–and men, and whatever/whoever you are, proudly–to feel comfortable talking about and solving their beauty problems.
You see, I have had skin and hair troubles since forever. I have gone through crazy, sometimes hormonal, acne breakouts, blackheads, whiteheads, sebaceous filaments, rough skin, hyperpigmentation, cellulite. At some point, I also had zero edges (like nada… zilch!), hair loss, severe dandruff, itchy scalp etc. You mention it, I’ve had it.
In addition, I suffer from depression–don’t worry, I’m much better than before–and I have always needed an outlet for all my pent-up emotions. So I decided to do three things: writing (more on this later), programming (I’m studying to be a computer scientist) and makeup. And let me tell you, they saved my life.
Good news though, I was able to find solutions to my beauty troubles. These solutions presented themselves through DIY beauty recipes and strong skincare and hair care practices, and rad makeup application skills.
On this blog/brand, I will be sharing with you all my skincare tips, blogging tips, makeup tricks/hacks, DIY beauty recipes, latest skin procedures, etc.
I am also a student who is putting herself through school. Blogging is my main source of income. It is what I use to make money to pay my school fees and run my household. It is a lot of responsibility, yes, but blogging has helped me do these things with more ease.
Therefore, I will also be sharing my very best blogging tips, monetization strategies, promotion strategies, and blog income reports of my growth on this blog/brand.
In addition to being a makeup artist and blogger, I am also a writer. And I can write just about anything. Truly. I write crime fiction actually (will give updates on my book when I start writing it) and I want to, in the future, be a crime fiction writer.
I also do freelance writing and I am an expert in the beauty/fashion and technology niches. If you want to work with me, visit my Services page.
Stick around, guys! You’ll love it here, I bet.
